The DOD VCC1 Volume/Controller pedal is a completely passive mono volume pedal, that can also serve as an expression pedal for some DOD multieffects units. Unlike the FX-17 Wah/Volume pedal, the VCC1 relies on a potentiometer whose range is varied by rocking the treadle. The VCC1 was likely introduced in 1997, based on the date in its User's Guide (see link below), but as it lacked a serial number it is unclear when the VCC1 was discontinued. However, the example we have seen (shown above) is labeled "made in the U.S.A.", which implies it was discontinued before production shifted to China at the end of the century.

- From the VCC-1's User Guide (1997; see link below): "The VCC-1 offers smooth, effortless operation, in a rugged, yet light weight chassis. The VCC-1 is ideal to use as a volume controller pedal that lets you create synth-like volume swells at your feet. The VCC-1 is also perfect to use as a continuous controller of effect parameters in multi-effect units such as the DOD FX7. Assigning the VCC-1 to the Wah parameter of the FX7 will let you create 'Voodoo-Like' wah effects."
- VCC1 vs. VCC-1? The pedal and its box do not use a hyphen, but DOD's literature includes one. To the best of our knowledge, there are no cosmetic variants of the pedal with a hyphen.
